Preparations for this year’s mermaid-themed Power of the Purse fundraiser hosted by the MRMC Foundation are in full swing as the event date – Thursday, April 26 – is fast-approaching. This marks the seventh year for this fun, philanthropic “Girls’ Night Out” in which all funds raised will go towards the purchase of a new CT Scanner for the Matagorda Regional Medical Center.
The MRMC Foundation would like to extend an invitation to anyone looking to have a “mermazing” time. And by “mermazing”, we mean amazing. Shades of blue and purple, pearls, and sparkle will help transport the Bay City Civic Center to an under-the-sea, mermaid extravaganza.
Donations of new and gently used purses, jewelry and men’s accessories are currently being accepted for both the silent and live auctions up to the week of the event. This is the first year that jewelry and men’s accessories will be included in the silent auction giving attendees even more options to bid on. Keep track of your bids and you just might head home with a brand new Michael Kors handbag for you, a set of Kendra Scott earrings for your best gal pal, and a nice leather wallet for your husband!
Not only could you place the winning bids on items such as the ones previously mentioned, but most importantly you would be placing a valuable contribution towards the quality of healthcare offered in your community.
Tickets are on sale now starting at $30 each. Also, for the first time, reserved seating will be available at $350 per table of 8 seats. All tickets include a variety of hors d’oeuvres, desserts, beverages and spirits. The mouthwatering surf and turf appetizers along with mermaid-inspired cocktails will be enough to make you not want to miss this event!
We hope you can join us for this one-of-a-kind night out in Bay City where you are guaranteed to enjoy posting pictures taken with your friends in our mermaid-themed photo booth, sipping a new favorite beverage, sampling delicious hors d’oeurves, and bidding on designer purses, jewelry and men’s accessories. There is so much fun to be had all while knowing that you are directly contributing to the health and well-being of the community we live in.
To purchase tickets, please contact Tiffany Foltyn – Executive Director of the MRMC Foundation – at (979) 241-5534 or stop by the Foundation office located at 1833 7th Street in downtown Bay City.
