DIETARY AIDE (FT)
JOB SUMMARY
Your primary responsibilities are to serve meals, typically Physicians, guests of the hospital and hospital staff. When serving, you give food to customers as they walk through a line or by selling prepackaged items that can be purchased a la carte. In addition to serving food, your duties include restocking and maintaining supplies for the cafeteria, ensuring health and safety standards are respected, keeping cafeteria eating areas clean and sanitary and solving customer inquiries. Key skills for this job include money skills, register skills, safety regulations knowledge, food preparation abilities, serving skills, attention to details, teamwork, and communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to be certified as food handler within 1 month of employment
- Able to manage a register
- High School Education or GED preferred
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
Knowledge and understanding of cleaning procedures.
Ability to work and cooperate with members of the department and hospital staff.
Understands and practices infection control procedures.
Good organizational procedures.
Must be able to ambulate and stand for long periods at a time.
Ability to lift, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull loads required.
Able to tolerate rapid fluctuations in work load.
Maintains high ethical standards.
Shares knowledge with peers and participates in the orientation of new employees.
Flexible in meeting the needs of the department, reports to work at the assigned time.
Completes assignments in a timely manner.
Adheres to unit dress code.
Expected to cross train to other units and willingly float to other areas of the department when requested.
Demonstrates professional behavior.
